One of the key objectives of the Health Programme of the European Commission is to develop expertise on performance assessments of health systems, drawing lessons from recent experience to build up knowledge that can inform policies. To meet this objective, the Commission is committed to improving health information and evidence. This overall health information initiative is currently being developed by the Commission in consultation with interested parties The plenary session provides  an opportunity for delegates to discuss today's needs for improving EU health information.
